Saturday, January 15, 2005 - Playlist Music Story
Tell a story, using the 'shuffle' function in iTunes, with whatever your current playlist is. If your playlist is deemed to be too long, use the Party Shuffle.
We were working in the rat-race, before moving on to where we belong. (You know I can't stop counting all the days). You turned on some funky jazz, said "Birds do it; let's do it! Let's go on a five state drive!" Streetlights over the Eisenhower made the photograph on the dashboard, taken years ago, breathe in and out, like a Macintosh's power light. We drove and danced into the night, but around two in the morning you asked me to pull over and get some candy. You had a sweet tooth for licorice drops and jelly rolls, and when we brought them up to the counter the clerk said those were her favorites, too. "Just the same as the last time," said the clerk, and introduced herself as Annie. We could tell she was fed up with the red-eye shift, and asked her to join us. She said she'd love to, but she was waiting for someone, so we hoped back into the car. Suddenly, a flying saucer swept down out of the dark sky, controlled by gamma light. "Earth people, I was born on jupiter! Earth people, New York and California!" it said out of its loudspeakers. "Look at the green lights, and y'all see my brain glow!" Suddenly, we felt ourselves fading away, and awoke in a tiny, dark tunnel. It was quiet, but suddenly we heard soft squeaking. Then, something bit my foot, with teeth as sharp as knives! I thought I heard you say, come on, come on, let me take you! Lets go down the waterfall; think about the good times and never look back! So we did. And we landed, sopping wet, right back at the office.
